New Product - NPOTA Logger
« on: February 14, 2016, 04:38:43 PM »
National Parks on the Air has proven to be a tremendous hit. After my third time activating, I realized I needed a more streamlined logger for my slew of activations I plan to do this year. I have thus far been using N3FJP. I sat down and wrote a simple logging interface that has a few key features:
  • Displays the voice phonetics of the site I'm activating (after two or three, it gets confusing)
  • Manual setting of band/freq/mode. No rig control cable to mess with.
  • Export to ADIF. I can import to N3FJP for LoTW and inclusion in my primary log later.
  • Small interface, option to keep on top. If I decide to run FLDIGI for digital modes, it takes up less screen real estate.
  • Default 59/599 signal reports. Enter call sign, hit enter. Enter call sign, hit enter. Helps working those pileups.
  • Low resource usage, compatibility with XP. This can run on my netbook so I don't have to haul around a larger laptop.
After testing the software in the field, it is now available for general usage.
